Its been a long wait

I am sat in my little office, looking at the view to the sea, excited that finally I start to write this blog as it represents the fact that I can now undertake my research and adventure.

In 2020 I was awarded a Churchill Fellowship (churchillfellowship.org) to visit the USA and Norway to research the role of arts, culture and nature in healthcare.

Little did I know, at the time, what lie ahead.

Only a world pandemic and sadly my own health challenges.

Now 3 years later and fighting fit my dream to explore how health systems globally are using art, culture and nature, in both their environmental design and as part of service provision for patients, staff and the wider community, is almost here.

There are still a few pieces missing from the jigsaw, but the picture is forming.

The first part of my fellowship will begin at the end of June 2023 starting in New York travelling from east to west America.

I invite you to join me, through this blog, from making the final arrangements, the count down and to the travels and adventures.
